The wild poppy (Papaver rhoeas) has long symbolised remembrance, resilience and the fleeting beauty of life. Often seen growing in unexpected places, it represents persistence and quiet strength, making it a flower associated not only with memory but with endurance and renewal. This sculpture focuses on the solitary poppy that survives against the odds, drawing attention to the beauty that exists beyond what is immediately noticed.
Each sculpture is handmade in the UK by Danniella in her small independent studio, crafted with the care and attention that only true artisanal work carries.
The sculpture is hand fabricated in sterling silver with a red cold enamel finish applied to the inside of the petals. It is mounted on a solid black marble base, creating contrast between the delicacy of the flower and the permanence of the material. The approximate dimensions are 18cm x 6cm. The silver has been treated to resist tarnishing and therefore does not require regular cleaning.

This piece was created through close botanical observation, studying and measuring live poppy specimens in the same way a botanical illustrator would. Each element was shaped by hand while continually referring back to natural samples, with surface textures intentionally chosen to reflect the characteristics of each part of the flower.
All Wilde Flower pieces are hallmarked in accordance with UK hallmarking laws.
Because each piece is hand fabricated by Danniella, subtle variations will occur, making every piece truly unique.
